Johanna Ferreira is a writer, journalist, and digital content creator/strategist. She previously worked as the Deputy Editor of HipLatina (under H Code Media) and is currently a freelance writer who has written and contributed compelling content for a number of notable media outlets and e-commerce beauty/lifestyle brands including Oprah Mag, Allure, Refinery29, Travel + Leisure, Well + Good, Pop Sugar, The Americano, Healthline, Thirteen Lune, Prose, and Soko Glam’s The Klog. She also has experience launching and creating content leading to the launch of quite a few startup websites both in editorial and e-commerce.
A passionate storyteller with close to 10 years of experience, Johanna understands the importance of creating content that speaks to the experience of women of color and encourages them to live their most empowered lives. Her work centers on various themes including Latina womanhood, culture, beauty, and wellness — often covered from a socio-perspective. She has hosted and moderated panels that aim to bring awareness to social issues and empowerment to underrepresented communities across race, class, and gender. Reputable brands including Instagram, The Wing, Wattpad, and Warner Bros. have hired her to moderate panels either in person or virtually.
She also co-produced a podcast with Kamari Chelsea called The Truth Report, where the two talk to influential people about the truth behind various cultural and social topics (ranging from racial issues, finances, beauty, health, spirituality, sex and more).
When she’s not writing or working on creative projects, Johanna is passionately cooking, reading, hiking, making remedio caseros (home-made ancestral herbal remedies), doing yoga or pilates, or spending time in nature.
